A more pragmatic person would’ve killed a bird while feeling sad about doing it. Seems a lot quicker than digging ^^

censored he killed him. Come one he was so cool, I hate this but at least it’s somehow realistic, if you face a shapeshifting roc monster it’s hard to survive.
    But still, gugu, NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Story has gotten lame.. I really enjoyed the episodic adventure of the immortal MC, but now it has turned into a teenage love Drama where the MC is barely involved anymore. Just not my taste personally. No offense to those who enjoy the series.

I agree. I havent really enjoyed the recent developments, where I did enjoy the beginning with the main character. Gugu annoys me and so does the little princess chik. I hope this Arc with them ends soon.

He didn’t change his form since the fight so maybe if he change to something else then go back to the boy he’ll go back to the younger form of the boy not the older one. Who knows ? ^^

Not sure how I feel about this seemingly being a bit more focused on combat now. I sort of enjoyed Fushi being fundamentally invincible (even if he could suffer setbacks) and it being more slice-of-life-ish.

Also kinda surprised Fushi’s human form is growing up.

I hope it doesn’t pull a fast forward or something and continues to show the immortal’s growth in painful detail.  This manga is different so far and I like that.

lol good one!.. but that is probably why this series has little views and no real fanbase. Ratings for it in Japan are below average. For a series like this, progress is important, and while I know you were saying this just to contradict the comment below, I actually agree with seeing more progress(quicker development) and a more defined direction, as we already know that the Immortal will grow and learn, and seeing him learn in slow painful detail will def lead to the series getting axed LOL. You can always tell a series popularity by the views and the amount of comments. And the story started out good but has been a bit boring as it went along. I get the reason for downvotes, because the ones here reading are mostly hardcore fans and will be biased and defend the series, but the numbers, views tell us what the readers think in reality of a series. Just my opinion.

Its okay to have a manga that isnt like by everyone. As long as it resonate with enough people you can call it a success, not a resonding one, but a success still.
Saying that its not popular doesnt mean quality, as well say popular is quality, same thing.
Also dont forget that art is subjective, because at his core definition it is supposed to make you feel something, or express it. So not liking it is okay, as liking it too. Just dismissing one’s liking because you dont feel the same or the norm doesnt like it dont even start to give you enough reason to just push aside his opinion, without much explanation that “hey, most people dont like it, so it sucks, lol”.
When you like something, you dont have to be a hardcore fan to defend it, being an ass was most likely the reason of your downvote, too bad because a good part of your message had a constructive analysis, but like you said, people have biases, so did you, and so what?
Would you only watch a serie or a manga because everyone else does? And would you stop watching something because everyone else doesnt, even if you like it? Because that’s pretty much what you argue about.
Slow devellopement isnt your thing? Well state your opinion and dont be a dick about it, because you state “just my opinion” doesnt lesser the fact that you just tossed aside someone else opinion. But hey ... that’s just my opinion.

Hmm,, interesting development making March a ghost. I did not see that coming. But again, I probably should have being that March was given such a strong character and personality and would have been hard to take away from the story. I find it odd though that he can see March, but could not see the young boy after he died. Lets hope to see more surprises in the future and unexpected turns as these are what makes many series enjoyable is their unpredictable nature..

I dont really see where this is going or what the point of it is. And the immortal’s progress is agonizingly slow. Hopefully there is some type of time-skip where he can talk and can become a real main-character. Do not get me wrong, it was a nice, sad little episodic Arc about a pure, innocent little girl with courage, but as a comic going forward, I just do not know what the point is. Will it just be an episodic journey of the Immortal as he meets different people along his travels, or will he stick with the girl and get revenge or try to stop the corruption? Hard to tell at this point. Could possibly become a good series but it is just too hard to make any real assumptions. I think if handled properly, it could be a decent episodic(although I am not a fan of them), or it could also become a series with a plot and finishing destination going forward and also be really good. We will see.

not everything needs a defined path or plot. if you’ve read some other long-running manga/manhwa/manchua, you’ll see the plot for some is not very well defined. yet they are popular because there’s a lot of ‘action’.

here, i believe your answer is in the first chapter. the author calls this a ‘never ending journey’. ‘It’ was a sphere that was thrown upon this land and could imitate the form of other things. ‘It’ will likely meet all sorts of people and have all kinds of experiences, just as the boy wished.

Personally, I feel this is a great concept - that there is no particular end point.

This also means the author does not have any pressure to take the story towards a fixated destination. Each set of experiences can be unique and not necessarily related to each other, but pulling on the experiences of the former.

I imagine ‘It’ will eventually become ‘human’ enough to pass undetected in ‘society’ as we know it. While I’d personally like to see nothing more than brief contact with isolated settlements to ‘experience’ things as the boy wished, it is inevitable that ‘It’ will ‘merge’ into human society at a point.

The greatest difficulty the author has is creating ‘great experiences’ to keep bringing back choosy readers (not meant in a wrong sense).

@dick… I completely disagree.. Most opular, long running series have a point and end goal to them. It is defined. There is direction and purpose. Even episodic series like Conan, Gintama, City Hunter all had/have direction and a point to where the story is heading. A story needs a defined path and direction to gain readers and popularity. Just telling a story about some kid who is immortal and can turn into different things while traveling is a bit boring, and causes the battles that they will have to have less meaning because they are sporadic and do not serve a bigger purpose for the story. Everything is random. While I get there are people who will enjoy this, a majority will not, and it shows in the views and ratings. I am not stating this is a bad series, just as I dont think the other commenter was either, just stating that it needs more direction and progress and this is something I can agree with because there is no defined goal for the series. People read stories for a dramatic, and entertaining purpose. A huge romantic climax between a couple, A huge battle between good and evil, the attainment of an amazing goal, ect.. Along with likeable characters, and a well executed story, this is what keeps readers coming back in droves and gives popularity to a series. I can’t really say “Fushi” or any of the characters are overly relatable or likeable. Maybe the little girl a bit, but she is dead now LOL

This is a really weird manga. The art is… different, not bad but i am not used to it.
The story is unique since i have never read anything like it.
The story telling is really good and the pace is a little slow in my opinion but it does suit this story.

In short, a good read and i’m looking forward to the next chapters
